I can recommend a band, Morningwood, whom I saw on Letterman last week. Now this band has a very enthralling lead singer, Chantal Claret, who is completely in her own world when she is performing. I will definitely see this band if they come to town! Click here to see more about Morningwood.
Finally, my favorite, Thievery Corporation kicked some major
ass as they brought a ton of energy and cool vibes down on the crowd Saturday night. TC's show are always a treat and they did not dissapoint at Lollapalooza. This was a great venue for TC because I think alot of the people that came to Lolla may never have heard of them, but will know them now.
7/26/06 -LARGE and in charge!
I asked for a knock out performance last week and Storm Large delivered! Storm reeked havoc on stage with her rendition of "Anything Anything". See her performance by clicking on the photo:
If Storm does not get the encore, I'll be really surprised because, while there were a couple of other good performances, Storm came to play last night.

It seems that Storm took Gilby's advice to Patrice on how the singer for his new band needs to be able to do some crazy shit on stage.
2.24.06 -First off I have the most virulent video to hit the internet in many years. It is a whacked out rap video by Adam Samberg and Chris Parnell from SNL called "Lazy Sunday". It's definitely the funniest shit that has come out of SNL in years. If you havent seen it, click the linkclick it NOW!!! Oh yea if you didnt know, Mr. Pibb +Red Vines = Crazy Delicious!!! LAZY
1.27.06- I came across an ad for a lingerie company called Agent Provocateur (guys, Valentines Day is around the corner!). The ad stars one of my favorite pop singers, Kylie Minogue, who does things in this ad that are.....well, you need to see it.
Kylie is one of my favorite singers because she does completely off the walll stuff like this and she is a muse for many DJs. Apparently this commercial was banned in the UK because it is just too hot. Kylie Ad

Also, some people got to see the incredible photo of John Lennon, taken while the Beatles were in India in 1968 by Paul Saltzman.

This isn't music related, but it is just plain funny. I laughed out loud many times reading this...
Apparently, someone bought a bootleg DVD of the last Star Wars movie on a street in New York. The DVD was filmed with a camcorder. What is funny is that it was filmed in China; the movie was dubbed with a Chinese interpretation of the script and then translated back into English subtitles. Check it out:

I've been playing with this mashup between Kurt Cobain and Jordis. It's pretty close to being where I want it to be; here's a preview..
Jordis dodged a bullet this week with a lackluster rendition of Layla, but Martys acoustic version of Mr. Brightside was incredible.

8/8- Just wanted to say that if you are watching Rockstar-INXS, you have to be thinking that Jordis is, by far, the best singer up there. I know Marty is from Chicago and he is a great performer, but the voice Jordis has is untouchable. Click on the picture for a clip of her performance or check out the audio here:
